Pond Cottage: House Story
About the Project
Built in 1999, this two-story, five bedroom, five bath home encompasses 5,300 square feet. Though the layout had character, the fit and finishes did not—the interior was the epitome of builder beige blah with ’90s maple everywhere! Yet, I saw potential. Situated on a beautiful private pond next to Lake Minnetonka, the large, spacious home enjoys gorgeous views.

Momma and three teenage daughters.
Top Priority
Creating a unique and beautiful character reflective of Momma client’s personality was my focus, as well as giving this larger home a fancy cottage feel. Special Feature The kitchen island steals the show! The custom painted finish is the result of a six-step process and gives the piece the feel of a vintage piece from Europe. And the carved legs give the island a unique beauty.
