Deck the halls with boughs of holly, fa la la la la la la la la…tis the season to not do all artificial greens…fa la la la la la la la la!
Hehe. Okay, so it is okay to decorate with artificial decor, but the fragrance and beauty of real greens can bring so much joy during the holiday season. I love to prop fresh garlands and greens just about everywhere. Here are some of the questions we’ve received from you when we took holiday decorating to the Instagram polls.
1. What types of greens do you use and where do you get them?
I like to use various types of beautiful evergreens! Mostly, spruce tips, Minnesota cedar, boxwood, boughs of blueberry and red huck. The boughs work really well to really make the arrangements look lavishly full.
2. How do you keep real greens fresh throughout the holiday season?
There is a product called Wilt Stop that you can purchase to help extend the life of those beautiful greens. Before you bring your greens inside, you spray them down with Wilt Stop and then let them dry.
3. Where are the best places for these evergreens?
I love adding adding real greens to mantles, console tables, chandeliers, the kitchen hood vent, open shelves…well pretty much everywhere!
