The Cullinans have officially been living in their Country Road renovation for six months! This month, we followed up with Kate to learn more about how she’s adjusting to her new home.
What was your first impression of your home?
I couldn’t believe that I got to live there. The design exceeded my expectations.

What did you friends and family think?
A lot of people have commented on the transformation — they especially love the attention to detail. Nothing was left untouched. Even the vents are covered, and there is flow to the renovation so it feels like the house has always been this way. I also get a lot of compliments on the lighting fixtures.

What was your favorite part?
I was excited to have a really large center island for working at home & sprawling, hosting family and friends, and cooking for my blog. Everywhere in that kitchen is bright and light and feels homey, and yet, even though it’s a farmhouse style it’s new. The design was a homage to the original farmhouse. It doesn’t lose the quintessential character of what it looked like originally. It blows my mind that it’s new. It still feels timeless.

What was something that surprised you about the renovation?
I was surprised that from beginning to the end everyone in the project cared and that everyone we met was respectful. It seems like everyone works together well. There was really good rapport in a real and authentic way.

How have your dogs adjusted?
They love to sit on the middle level and look outside. They lay in the entryway and sun themselves.
