We love fall most of all

Cozy spots & Comfort food ❤️ How to decorate for fall!

Hey you! Yes you sweet gal! Let’s take a minute together to fulfill our domestic hearts. Whether it comes naturally, or not so much…that’s okay…we are all in beautiful chaos! I’m just excited to spend a little time with you, let you in on a few of my favorite things and enjoy the beautiful month of September with change that brings so many warm + fuzzy feelings. ?

September always brings a new passion to make my home a cozy place full of comfort and warmth. ❤️ You too?

The subtle transition to crisp, fall air sparks my heart for some of the simple comforts in life. I start to crave yummy food, deliciously scented candles & cozy blankets.

Where we live, in Minnesota, the beautiful, mature trees start changing into gorgeous autumn colors & the air fills with a rich, woodsy scent. Inside, it’s time for the taste buds to be reunited with fragrant, satisfying foods!

Oh yessssss, I love fall most of all…don’t you?!

In September, I tend to add subtle touches of the season rather than a full blown display of everything pumpkin. ? It’s the month that still holds the door open to both summer & fall and I like to keep the house looking somewhere in between as well. What I love to do most is to escape to the backyard and clip a few beauties from a tree in the midst of changing colors.

If you need to clip from a neighbor’s tree, hey, that’s okay! Totally kidding…no, no it’s probably not ?

I also love adding pops of deep colors like amber and navy throughout the house.

Rather than ornamental fall decor, I decorate by cozying things up…adding extra pillows & throws on the beds and sofa.

Another fun trick while decorating for fall is to use food. It’s the perfect time to keep crisp apples on the counter in a pretty bowl or gorgeously green artichokes on a cutlery board.

September is also the perfect month to give your summer plants one last hoorah; it’s the time to supplement with beautiful, complementing mums.

And, okay, a subtle pumpkin here & there! Overall, if I had to choose only one place to decorate or buy something new for September, it would be the front porch. Try to keep in mind that the happiest people don’t have the best of everything; they make the most of what they have. For that reason, let September be the month that encourages creative change in any way!

Apple Pear Crisp Recipe

Finally, fall puts me in the mood to bake. How about you?! Hopefully we can agree that nothing says fall better than the scent of cinnamon baking in the oven. And no more having to worry about that bikini body…well…I may have missed the boat on worrying about it during summer, too. Haha, for the love of puns!

Anyways, there are a few fall sweets that I press repeat on every year with the reoccurring freedom to wear yoga pants and an oversized sweater. See, I don’t know you, but, I bet I know you! 😉 One of our household favorites is apple pear crisp. With a fruit crisp, I actually don’t use a recipe and just kind of make it up as I go. Sometimes I add more fruit than sugar, while other times, more sugar than fruit. It’s fun to get the babies in the kitchen with me and create whatever we’re feeling!

For those of you who would like a recipe to follow, I love this one on Pinterest ❤️
