I have never met an Autumn that I did not like ? The days vary — from warm to crisp air, and the world just smells heavenly! It’s the season to take in all the senses and simply appreciate the small (and large) gifts in life ❤️

In the fall, I love to decorate my home in a way that brings the beautiful wonders of outside, indoors. It is a reminder that { h o m e } is a place for warmth and snuggles.

From my home to yours, here are a few of my best fall decorating tips. Cue the cup of pumpkin latte and have fun❣️

How to Add Fall Texture into Your Home

Autumn is all about adding texture. Add soft textures to your home that invite snuggles and cuddles! Mix and match fabrics that are both made of different materials and different patterns. Swapping out throw pillows is one of the best ways to change decor seasonally. Also, add in cozy knit throw blankets for added warmth.

Secret Tip:

Purchase seasonal pillow covers and simply alternate them, using the same down inserts throughout the year. Store seasonal covers in plastic bins.

My Favorite Throw Pillows:

Add textures to your home with natural elements, such as:

  • Wood Stacks
  • Branches
  • Autumn Florals

How to Add in Fall Colors

I love using the same vases and containers year round but enjoy switching out fillers for each season.
Fall is a beautiful time of year to select fillers with rich amber & crimson tones, as well as pops of green. I love to purchase both artificial fillers (that get used year after year) and incorporate real elements, even food items for decor.

Secret Tip:

While grocery shopping, add a few extras to your cart that will be great for fall decor, like:
  • Artichoke hearts
  • Apples
  • Figs
  • Pumpkins (of course!)

Also, Trader Joe’s is my absolute favorite place to shop for real florals and houseplants ?

Bring in the Harvest

It wouldn’t be fall decorating without touches of all things harvest season. I love to add neutral-colored pumpkins around the house, adding gentle festivity to sweet spots. Again, incorporating artificial & real items completely works!

How to Decorate Your Front Porch for Fall:

This is the time of year that the front step gets the most action! It is also the first impression of your home and a telling welcome of what’s inside. Wow visitors and trick-or-treaters with lush porch decor that you can put together in minutes. Here are my favorite things to add:

  • Mums
  • Ferns
  • Lanterns
  • Pumpkins

I also love to add cute pillows & throws to rocking chairs and benches as an extra touch of cozy.

Secret tip:

Under your welcome mat, layer with a jute rug for an added design element.
