Meet the Martins, the family behind our Classic Farmhouse project! We feel so lucky to have met this beautiful family — they are practically our neighbors and they share our last name! How perfect is that?!

“We moved to Minnesota from Arkansas in August of 2016 — exactly two years ago!
My husband took a job with Target and while we were house shopping, this farmhouse caught his eye online. We knew it would be a great family home and it offered the opportunity to live in a rural community after living in traditional neighborhoods for 25 years. We are a family of six plus two Labradors — our two younger children in Orono schools and our two older children living mostly away, experiencing college and a first job. Having a farmhouse and acreage is new for us and we’ve definitely settled in to our home — we love Minnesota!
This spring, we decided to make a few updates to the house to make it our own. Being new to the area, we didn’t have any idea who to contact and use for the work. I drove past the white and black Beautiful Chaos™ sign on the Hidden Hillside property daily, then realized while walking our dogs that we live half a mile from the Beautiful Chaos people! And, their last name was Martin too – it was serendipity!
From our first meeting, Sarah’s love for farmhouses and family was evident and I knew she could help us realize our goals for an updated, modern farmhouse. Sarah offered many ideas and we were most excited about her vision for our kitchen. We liked the layout but the stained cabinets and tropical green granite and backsplash were outdated. Our two fireplaces were looking a bit drab and our floors needed a refresh too, so Sarah pulled together ideas to renovate our home.
Now our living spaces are beautiful! Our kitchen is bright and airy with newly enameled cabinets, black matte countertops, and a chic tile backsplash, perfectly achieving our goal of an inviting space for our family to gather. Replacing the fireplace surrounds instantly updated both living areas — one with lovely marble tile and the other with painted brick. Refinishing the hardwood floors brought back the beauty in the wood and a few specially selected rugs define and warm the spaces. A special touch of Beautiful Chaos styling gave us the peaceful, bright vibe our family loves.
Working with Sarah and Jayme has been such a treat! They are kind and honest, optimistic when faced with adversity, and take so much joy in achieving the dreams of their clients. From start to finish, the Beautiful Chaos™ team listened, planned, dreamed, and ultimately delivered beautiful spaces for our family to make new memories in Minnesota.
